Many New Amigurumis

This summer I was pretty busy with doing new amigurumis. At the beginning of the Summer I had only done 4 (Goomba, Toad, Luigi, and Mario), and by the end I had finished 12, with 5 more nearing completion. I’ve already posted one of them, Espeon. With school starting now I wanted to go ahead and get these online as well.
The first newly completed amigurumi is the pokemon Ampharos (mine’s level 60 lol). He’s pretty cool and turned out really well. Beau was happy because he had pretty little to do for him too.

Of course when I started making pokemon I had to set aside the time to make Jigglypuff. To my surprise she turned out a little smaller than I expected, but is pretty cute.

Another quick project was Chain Chomp. In contrast to Ampharos Beau was pretty frustrated with the amount of felting he required. The teeth gave him fits, but I really like how the eyes turned out. We also learned a new way to make the felted eyes compress better, so they look more like one piece instead of severals.

The pokemon that opened the door to me doing Espeon was of course Wolfdreamer’s Umbreon (mine’s level 59 haha). We tried making a little nose for her, but eventually settled on just adding the eyes and yellow rings. No complaints here though, she’s very cute.

My favorite amigurumi of the summer, by far, has to be Yoshi! He was actually the first one I finished this summer, but I had to save him for last. While making him I learned that I had been doing the stitches for amigurumis wrong for some time and found I could do them much, much quicker now. Plus Yoshi turned out awesome.

Espeon

For several months now I’ve been asked by my fiancé (and amigurumi felter) Beau to make a couple of our favorite Pokemon: Umbreon and Espeon. But without a pattern those projects got pushed to the back of the queue in favor of others.

Recently, another crocheter whose patterns are very good, and whom I’ve made amigurumis from before, posted her own pattern for Umbreon. A week later we had our own Umbreon and were pretty pleased. That is until I suggested to Beau that it might be possible for me to alter her pattern for Umbreon a little to make Espeon. Since Espeon is his favorite Pokemon, he immediately jumped on board for that idea and I’m pleased to say I think Espeon turned out very well. His ears, whiskers, and tail are all my own design, while the body is the same as Umbreon’s. We finished felting it earlier today and even tried to make it look more authentic by making the jewel on its forehead out of a dab of hot glue which we then painted to match Espeon’s.

To help make the tail more posable and like Umbreon’s from pictures we’re going to put a thin wire inside it. Beau is very happy with it and hopefully Wolfdreamer (the other crocheter) will be proud of the alterations as well.

These pictures aren’t the best, but it is the best I can do at night.

Body, Head, Legs

After looking around online for an Espeon pattern, I came across Wolfdreamers’ Umbreon she created. I realized that with a few adjustments to her pattern I could make Espeon. I give her full credit for the body, and after asking permission from her, I am linking to her blog so that you can make the body part to go with the rest.

Assembly

Attach legs and head to body using yarn or string that is close to the color.

Sew ears on head making sure that they lean so they get the angle Espeons ears have.

Whisker: Attach the small whisker to the larger whisker about round 5 or 6. Sew whiskers underneath ears

Tail: Attach small part of the tail to the larger around round 11 (it may vary, just make sure that it creates a nice even Y when done)

Create the face and ears with felt (we just hot glue it, but it can be sewn on with thread that is the same color)

The red spot on his forehead is created by making a dollop of hot glue on a piece of paper and painting it red. It could also be crocheted in a magic ring with 3 or 4 sc, around.

Espeon and Pokemon are copyright of Nintendo.

Eclipse DS Case

Since Eclipse came out I have been really excited, and after seeing it I wanted to make something for the movie. One day I happened upon someone selling an Eclipse DS Case, and since I didn’t want to pay for it, I thought I would try making one of my own, with some added improvements. I crocheted the case in rounds(which was the easiest part). I then had to find red ribbon that would work well on it and look like the cover of the Eclipse book. Also, on the other side is a plastic canvas addition which has eclipse spelled out and a picture. I am very excited about how it turned out, and I think it will even look okay over Beau’s Darth Vader sticker cover he has on his DS.(He doesn’t mind using my case, he just might not take it outside).

Crochet Purse and Wallet

I have been working on this crochet bag for like a month now.  With everything going on, and getting sidetracked by other things I have postponed finishing this until recently.  The stitch got boring after awhile, because of the repetition.  It allows me to put all of my stuff into it without any trouble.

The front:

The back:

I made this wallet to go with it.  The colors are off  in these pictures.  Its the same color as the bag, but I think its a nice way to store all of my cards and I can even fit my checkbook in there as well.

The pattern is kind of simple for it, I just did (sc, dc) in rows to a length I liked, I think it turned out pretty well, and it is still holding up after the summer.

Bella’s Twilight Tobogan

This was a project I did a long time ago, but never got around to posting it.  School= Black hole of time.  Thankfully, now that it is summer, I should be able to share more things.  With Eclipse coming out soon, I thought I should post this for all those Twilight lovers out there.  If you recall the scene at La Push Beach in Twilight, Bella was wearing a crocheted tobogan.  I have seen others try to make it and thought I could make it more accurate to the movie version, so I made my own.  It came in handy with the epic snow we got during the winter this year.  I liked mine so much I made a smaller version for Slush (the stuffed Puppy who loves Twilight in previous posts).  I’ll be sure to add pics of hers later.  For now though here’s mine, hope you like it and hopefully I will be posting many more projects in days to come.
