After doing Goomba and Toad, I knew I would have to make Beau’s favorite Mario character. I found the pattern on http://wolfdreamer-oth.blogspot.com/2009/09/luigi-plushie.html . He’s been under construction for several months now. School and other things kept interfering, but last night, I finished sewing him together and Beau made the felt eyes, eyebrows, mouth, and Luigi symbol on his hat. I think he turned out very nicely, and after finishing him, we even managed to make some progress on the new Super Mario
Bro
s. game for the wii.

Beau’s Christmas Present
I made this blanket as Beau’s Christmas present. I have been really busy ever since then, and finally found a few free minutes to upload it. This is my first afghan/blanket I have ever made, it took a long time to do and definitely need some time off before I make another one. He likes it and while home, slept with it every night. Now it just sits on the couch and is a pretty decoration since we are together. Hopefully he’ll continue to like it and use it.

Crochet Angel Bag Holder
Over the summer, Beau’s mom needed help cleaning up the attic. While cleaning, his mom found pillowcases her mom had embroidered. One was so moth eaten that she reluctantly decided to throw it away. We rescued it from the trash without her knowing and every month since then I have been working on making an angel bag holder to stitch it onto. I finished just in time for christmas and gave it to her as a gift. She was so happy, she was in tears. She had it hung up immediately, and now brags about it to everyone who will listen. I’m really glad she enjoyed it, I was very nervous about it and kept asking Beau if he thought it was okay and pretty, probably enough times to drive him crazy. I started to use a pattern online but didn’t like it and came up with my own. Also, I have found some new techniques to improve on it since then.
Toad Amigurmi
I finished my second amigurumi this afternoon! Another Super Mario character, Toad! He was a little bit harder than the Goomba amigurumi because he had more colors and designs. I used the pattern from http://wolfdreamer-oth.blogspot.com/2009/08/toad-and-toadette.html. However, I did change a few things. With the help of Beau, we made the mouth different by adding a tongue and a happy smile. I also didn’t crochet the red circles on top of his hat. I used normal stuffing in the body, head and hat. But, for the feet I added little rocks to help Toad have support because his upper part is so big he was having a hard time balancing. I think Toad turned out great.
My First Amigurumi!
I finished my first Amigurumi today! I went old school and made the Goomba from Super Mario. I found the pattern at http://wolfdreamer-oth.blogspot.com/2009/06/mario-brothers-goomba.html
I changed up the stuffing recipe, since I had no pellets or beads I used scented crystals which are available at most stores in the candle aisle. It makes the Goomba smell really nice. Also, it is very sturdy and a little bit heavier than if I had used beads or pellets, which makes it less likely to fall over. However, I didn’t like the way the eyes and eyebrows were done on this Goomba, so I made my fiance(Beau, who is also crafty it turns out) make the different face for it. Then instead of sewing it on, I hot glued it. Already, I’m getting orders for a Mario and Luigi. Maybe when its finished I can make a little scene.
