“Yoda, you seek Yoda!” *Theme of the Force starts playing*
Sorry, I had to start with a Yoda quote/flourish. They’re all pretty memorable and well, it’s Yoda. Needless to say Beau was very excited when I started working on him. Especially when I told him Yoda would be close to “life” size. I finished him much more quickly than expected, and have already had quite a bit of fun with him. He’s very poseable (his eyelids move to give expression, as does his mouth, and his arms and legs are pretty bendable as well. It’s funny to think that three years ago I didn’t even care to see Star Wars and now I’m making amigurumis of it (which I also couldn’t have done three years ago). I think Beau feels a little bad for turning me to the nerd side of the force, but its hard to complain with the results.

hi thanks for the fun pattern of yoda….what does ‘mr’ represent in your pattern ?
MR means magic ring…it’s a different way of making a circle. A quick google search will give you a tutorial on it. I’m glad you like yoda. 🙂

Have used most of this pattern a couple of times now. First turned out about 16 inches tall second was 6 inches. So thank you.
I’ve only been crocheting for about two months and have taken on this doll! So far, so good. My question is on the leg/foot. What end do you attach to the body? I can’t really tell by any of the pictures. Thanks!
Oh wow, you’re brave. I never would have done this pattern when I first started. Now to answer your question, the f/o side of the leg is attached to the body. and the big hole of the foot is attached around the leg where you began your magic circle. I hope that helps, and can’t wait to see it 🙂

Hey Shelley, absolutely love your yoda! I’ve only been crocheting for about 2 weeks now, made me a pac-man set, a teddy for my sister, recently finished a Snorlax and am now working on a fish for my stepdad, but my boyfriend adores your Yoda and I just have to make it for him! I’m scared to mess it up, but I’m gonna try! I saw the video and it was so so helpful, only thing I was wondering, how did you (or Beau) attach his hair to the doll? With some gluedots or? The hair is not really attached, it’s just pretty much laying on his head. No one plays with him, he just sits on my shelf so I didn’t want to mess up his hair by adding something that might make it look a little weird.
Thanks Shelly, I just added the hair on top as well, I tried with a few tiny gluedots, but it hardly stuck. Currently working on the pants and the toes and hoping that maybe I can sew those onto the body tonight and then continue on to the jacket 🙂
Hope you’ll create more because I love how detailed your plushies are, a lightsabre for Yoda would be nice too 🙂

I just finished the head but am stumped. Probably a dumb question, but do you stuff the head as you do the decreases? The hole is quite small when finished! lol
haha, there is no such thing as a dumb question. Yes, I do stuff the head as I decrease. I don’t ever remember to type it into the pattern because I just stuff it, and move on. Hope he is turing out great.

Not getting much sleep since I found this! I am having issues with the smaller pieces,I think the yarn I’m using is too thick! I was having issues with the ears and fingers.
So far, when I get frustrated – I move on to the bigger pieces. I can’t wait to finish and assemble but am I the only one with issues on the ears and fingers/toes?

Yoda pattern was excellent – took longer – was much larger and cost more than I expected, but also much better than I expected too! Video was really helpful too. What a character – I will be starting another soon. Thank you I am a big fan.

Excellent pattern! My father in law is turning 60 this year and is known affectionately as Yoda so this is a must for me. I found this via the web but if it hasn’t happened already I really suggest a Ravelry posting. This is the best pattern I’ve found all round.
I am so glad you had the video for the head. I had NO issues with it. (I watched the video then made the head and connected everything.) What I need to know, where exactly do I see the pics of where you attach the arms, sleeves, legs, feet, fingers, toes, pants etc. I have been crocheting for many years, but would like to see exactly how you put this together. I do LOVE it!!! Might I suggest that you incorporate the pants color and sleeve color with the arms/legs and delete some of the crochet time?… I plan to make another of these, and will attempt it, If I can succeed, I will let you know 🙂 May the force be with you in more of your patters 🙂 And again, THANK YOU. Took me longer than I thought, but Yoda is finally finished and he looks fantastic. Can’t thank you enough for the pattern. I can’t imagine how you figured out how to get all of those little bits to come together to make such an impressive Yoda head!
I am sure that my grandsons are going to go crazy when they see him and love him. Now I have a problem though because I have to find another figure to make (preferably Star Wars again) that looks as impressive as Yoda does and so far I haven’t come across one.

Because he has been given as a toy, rather that just placing a layer of filling for his hair my husband suggested using a fine crochet hook and pulling fine wisps of filling through some of the holes over his head. It worked very well.

Ok, it has been four years since my last comment. I still have not put Yoda together. I was hoping for some written directions, or possibly a video. I have most of the head figured out, except for the eyes. I know they are felt, but not sure of size. Again, pattern would help. I really would love finishing this project, but I need help with assembling
