Feraligatr

By popular demand I’m starting to make PDFs for all my patterns.  I’ll still have write ups posted on my blog but in the event you want to download the pattern, all you have to do is click on the link. This should make things alot easier for those of you who like to print things out or save them to your computer.  So first pattern: Feraligatr

There are quite a few pokemon that I get requests for from my fiancé and others.  The ones with the greatest frequency are always those that are part of my party from the games.  Ever since I got SoulSilver and added Toto to my party he’s been at the top of the request list.  Unfortunately, he’s also been at the top of the list of those pokemon that scared me senseless.  I just couldn’t see how to make him.  So, now, years after getting the game (our Feraligatr is level 75 now), I got it in my head to try him out.  Where urges like these come from no one knows, my fiancé is trying to come up with some kind of formula to figure it out.  Regardless, this little guy really worked me for a while, but now that he’s done I just want to hug him!

I hope you like the pattern and that your Feraligatr turns out as endearing as mine did!

Attach Row 1 of snout to Round 6 of head. Sew nose on to Row 5 of snout.  Sew sides of snout from the nose to the head, creating a curve on the snout, helping to form the mouth.

Attach Round 6 of Feet to Legs.  Round 13 of arms attaches to body.  Finger nails and teeth were made by creating three overlapping knots in the yarn and sewing them in place.

Attach body to Head and mouth piece.

Row 17 of tail attaches to body.  The hump  should be sewed on near the top of the body, right below the head.  Look at pictures for placement of spikes and patches.

Yoda

“Yoda, you seek Yoda!”  *Theme of the Force starts playing*

Sorry, I had to start with a Yoda quote/flourish.  They’re all pretty memorable and well, it’s Yoda.  Needless to say Beau was very excited when I started working on him.  Especially when I told him Yoda would be close to “life” size.  I finished him much more quickly than expected, and have already had quite a bit of fun with him.  He’s very poseable (his eyelids move to give expression, as does his mouth, and his arms and legs are pretty bendable as well.  It’s funny to think that three years ago I didn’t even care to see Star Wars and now I’m making amigurumis of it (which I also couldn’t have done three years ago).  I think Beau feels a little bad for turning me to the nerd side of the force, but its hard to complain with the results.

I hope you like this pattern as much as both Beau and I do.

Bullet Bill

Captain Jack took alot out of me.  So I needed a project that would be fun and interesting but easy enough that it wouldn’t drive me crazy.  So I got to looking around at the Mario villains and already having a soft spot for Bullet Bill from MarioKart(MarioKart’s bullet bike)I knew I had to do him.  He didn’t take very long and was actually ready a week ago, but “somebody” was slow on the felt.  I hope you enjoy him as much as I do.

And on a side note, we had the idea for adding a flame behind him similar to the way Charizard’s flame worked in his pattern.  We took a picture so you’d get the idea.

Haunter

After making Espeon, Beau got more creative in suggesting ideas of what he wanted me to make. One of his favorite Pokemon from the first gen. is Haunter. Since no one else has made a Haunter yet, that meant I had to get a little inventive. He is made up of a bunch of simple pieces that had to be added to make him work, of course to look exactly how he wanted it to, but wasn’t too bad. In the end, I really think he turned out great and hope everyone likes him.

Attach larger spikes at top of head forming an angle (as shown in picture), then attach medium spikes below, and the 2 remaining small spikes below that.

Attach larger finger to the middle of palm (to be the middle finger), then attach a small finger on each side of the large finger.

Use wire to make his hands “float” in the air.
